My name is Jackie Spinelli and EmpowerEd Families is a new, small business specializing in empowering families through a comprehensive and personalized approach to understanding special education.

 

As a certified Special Education teacher for grades K-12 with a master's degree in Educational Psychology and a certificate in Positive Behavior Intervention Supports from UCONN’s School of Education, my services are all about demystifying the special education process. Throughout my time in the classroom I’ve had the unique experience of working with all grade levels including pre-k.  My role allowed me to conduct both educational and behavioral evaluations, determine eligibility with the IEP team, write and implement IEP’s, meticulously track progress, facilitate the correct placement including out placement when appropriate, help students plan for secondary education, and even exit several students who had mastered their educational goals!

 

During my time in the classroom I found it extremely important that the students and parents I served had a thorough understanding of their individual education plan and were an integral part of the PPT team. I believe that you, as the family, are the expert on your student and I want you to have the confidence to advocate for what your student needs.

 

My aim is to turn families confusion into confidence and to ensure the best possible outcomes for your child's educational journey. My goal is to help those who feel overwhelmed or lost by the special education process find their way. EmpowerEd Families is dedicated to a personalized approach, expertise in special education, and the ability to turn educational challenges into opportunities for success.

 

Services include IEP review and insight, meeting preparation, evaluation analysis, effective communication with districts, comprehensive records review, process and timeline guidance, empowering rejections, transition support, and personalized consultations. Pricing is based on an hourly rate, ensuring flexibility and fairness tailored to the unique needs of each case.
